I am now trying to get caught up after a couple of great days in London. On the 21st and 22nd I attended CJU Europe, I thought this was a great event that provided some great presentations. Going into the event I thought most of the issues and topics would be CJ focused however, I was pleasantly surprised these were kept to a minimum and they really focused on forward thinking topics, the two best presentations in my opinion were the last two, one from Jay Stevens at MySpace, who gave a very compiling presentation on the shift to social media, and Stephen Talyor from Yahoo who presented on the future of search.
On the night of the 21st I decided to skip out on the CJ Awards and attend an "Affiliate Dinner" which was hosted by Brook Schaaf. There was a great cross section of people involved in Online Marketing, of particular interest was the Creator of Lonely Girl 15, this is one of first "made for Youtube" shows. They are busy getting ready to launch there next show "Kate Modern" on Bebo a huge UK social networking site, it is a great concept and I am curious to see where it goes. As well there were a couple of people from the ticket site viagogo.co.uk, which is brining a web 2.0 style to the secondary ticket market. Of course it was great to see Jess and Nadeem as well. Overall, another fantastic industry event, I will happily try and attend as many of these as possible.
