a4Uexpo Early Bird Reminder

I just wanted to send out a reminder for all those planning on attending the a4uexpo in London on the 25th & 26th of October, the early bird rate ends this Friday.  It looks like a great event especially with SES joining the mix.  Also don't forget, one month before is Affiliate Summit London taking place on the 28th of September at Olympia.  The Summit is taking place right after Ad:tech London which is taking place the 26th and 27th of September.  If you are in London or have the opportunity to be in there a day before the Summit I highly suggest attending Ad:tech as they have great sessions presented by Google, on using Adwords, and best of all attendance is free!  A busy and exciting couple of months for Online Marketing events in the UK!  If anyone wants to meet up during any of these events please drop me an email.

Back to School Season, New Textbook Creatives!

Back to school season is in full swing in the North America, that means it is only a few weeks away here in the UK.  As school fees increase at an alarming rate student are looking more and more often to finding a cheaper way to purchase textbooks. We here at AbeBooks have seen tremendous growth in this segment over the past few years and we expect to see the same this year.  In preparation we have updated out Textbook creatives and included two new types of search boxes, these allow a user to search multiple ISBN at once.  These should help raise the average basket size and help you earn more commissions!  This is also a great time of year for price comparison sites, if you operate a price comparison and don't have AbeBooks included, please contact us and we will help integrate AbeBooks UK into your site.  From our internal metrics and stats I suggest Affiliates get ready now! Reality TV hits Online Marketing!

It has taken a few years, but Reality TV has finally hit the world of Online Marketing.  Joel Comm, an Internet Marketer from the USA, who has a best selling book, sold a website to yahoo, and is an Adsense guru has created and produced The Next Internet Millionaire.  The show is based on a similar format to that of other business related reality television series like The Apprentice.  I have only watched the first 10 minutes, however it has impressed me, the comes across as very professional and I think I will be watching the other 40 minutes.

If you would prefer to read the blog via email, please sign up below.  The subscription sends you an email with the latest post.  This is a great feature for users who prefer email, or who don't use RSS feed readers.

Homepage Redesign, has it helped?

If you have having been watching our site closely you will have noticed we have tweaked our homepage during the last couple of weeks.  We have moved to a slightly cleaner look with more space around the content, and moved the footer to just below the content.  It appears from this has had a slight effect raising the affiliate conversion rate a couple of points over past week.  Time will tell the true impact but so far so good.  Let us know what you think, has this helped your sales or not?  If you are not using the homepage or can't find a landing page that will work for your AbeBooks UK offering, let us know and we will try and create a page to help your visitors convert better and earn you more money!

Seller Ratings!

AbeBooks has launched Seller Ratings!  The Seller ratings will allow Buyers to view a sellers completation rate, which is the percentage of orders a seller completes.  Booksellers with higher ratings have received fewer returns and have cancelled fewer orders.  This should help you the Affiliate earn more with the AbeBooks program.  Here is a search results with the new rating system.
